Accounting made easy: FreeAgent
The one thing I don’t really like about my business is the finance. Sure, it’s fun to receive money and all, but unfortunately, that’s not all you have to do. Taxes, expenses, bank accounts, Paypal accounts, business credit cards… You have to keep track of them all. Good thing I have software that’s taking care of all this for me. Meet: FreeAgent.
I’ve tried a lot. Quickbooks, Excel sheets, trying to find an accountant that does all the work for me, but until I found FreeAgent, I wasn’t happy with the hassle or pricing. FreeAgent is a secure, online accounting package that lets you send invoices, sends automated reminders, takes care of your expenses and even does the math on taxes for you. Your accountant is going to love you. Speaking of which: you can even create a special login for your accountant, so you never have to email “the books” again. Your accountant has every number at his/her fingertips.
The biggest pain was keeping track of all the expenses I made on the business account, credit card and Paypal. With FreeAgent’s statement uploader, there’s no more hassle. I simply download the statement from my bank account and upload it to FreeAgent. The software will figure out the rest. You’ll just have to give it some pointers and explain what the expenses mean. It’s even smart enough to remember the expense for next time, so when it sees the name of the expense on the next statement you upload, it automatically assumes it’s the same kind of expense.
My work in my “books” has been cut down by at least half the time, thanks to FreeAgent. It might save your business a whole lot of money.
